La Pointe Park and Les Fourches Park

Two magnificent parks located along the Matapedia and Causapscal salmon rivers. The parks are home to playing fields, such as basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, softball fields, and a skate park. We’ve also got a giant trampoline—the one and only in the region! While the children play, sit back and relax on the benches and listen to the water lapping in the river.


Des Pompes Park

A fitness trail comprised of a 5 km loop along a stream with a challenging incline. You can also admire a dam and footbridges along the trail. Additionally, you can access the International Appalachian Trail from the park. The trail can be tackled on snowshoes in the winter..


Pierre-et-Maurice-Gagné Park

The Pierre-et-Maurice-Gagné Park is located in downtown Amqui, along the Matapedia River. You’ll find a paved cycle path, water play area, children’s play structures, picnic tables, benches and a comfort station (toilets and water fountain). You can also admire the covered bridge which spans the rivers.


Seigneurie-du-lac-Matapédia Regional Park

La Seigneurie is eight easy to intermediate level walking trails with various levels of elevation allowing you to get a breathtaking view of the Lake Matapédia and the valley. You will find rest areas and access to the shores of Lake Matapédia. The perfect place to enjoy nature! The access is free of charge at all time.

Matamajaw Boutique

The Matamajaw Boutique sells several screen printed items. We also sell hand-crafted products created by the Causapscal ART-TISSE weavers. Make sure you call in when visiting the Matamajaw Fishing Heritage Site.


Matamajaw Fishing Heritage Site

Discover the history and important figures of salmon fishing in La Matapédia throughout the years. Exhibitions explain the dynamics of salmon fishing during the private club era. You can visit the main lodge, the ice box, and the canoe shed. Matamajaw was also designated a heritage fishing site in 1984 by the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications.


Beauséjour Covered Bridge

The Beauséjour covered bridge was built in the 1930s and was originally located above the Brûlé River on the Chemin Beauséjour in Sainte-Odile-de-Rimouski. The bridge was moved to Amqui’s Pierre-et-Maurice-Gagné Park in 2005, so that it could be restored and reclaimed by the community. Inaccessible to motor vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians can safely admire the bridge.


L’Anse-St-Jean Covered Bridge

The L’Anse-St-Jean covered bridge, located on the Chemin du Pont Couvert, was built in 1931 and is approximately 45 metres long. This bridge spans the Matapedia River and is used year-round, in particular, to access the Parc Régional de la Seigneurie du Lac Matapédia.


Heppell Covered Bridge

The Heppell covered bridge was built back in 1909 by the Heppell family and spans approximately 40 metres. One hundred years after its creation, a sculpture of Denys Heppell was commissioned to celebrate its centennial anniversary. In 2002, the bridge was repainted with the help of a volunteer. The bridge is always open to traffic during the summer, as a salmon pool is located close by.
