Routhierville Covered Bridge

The covered bridge in Routhierville dates back to 1931. Located on the Chemin Routhierville, the bridge stretches across the Matapedia River. It is made up of two sections and is the longest covered bridge in Bas-Saint-Laurent spanning a whopping 78 metres! The bridge has been a designated historical monument since 2009. In 2010, the RMC of La Matapédia restored the bridge, strengthening it and bringing it back to its original oxblood red colour.

The Parc Régional Val d’Irène ski centre is home to 26 ski slopes ranging from easy to expert, and a snowpark. Val d’Irène also offers a whole host of other activities, such a cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, and special evening activities. You can rent equipment, eat, and enjoy your après-ski at the centre’s chalet. Keep an eye out for our program!


Vallée de La Matapédia Snowmobile Club

The club manages approximately 260 kilometres of high quality, marked snowmobile trails in the western section of La Matapédia, including a section of the Trans-Québec 5. Our trails are connected to other regional and local trails so that you can make the most of the accommodation, catering and fuel provision services in the area. Take in the view from above the valley at the lookout towers at the Val d’Irène ski centre and on the Montagne St-Pie


Kite Lac Matapédia

Kite Lac Matapédia offers snowkite lessons with a certified instructor! We provide the kite and the harness. You will need to bring your own helmet, your skis or snowboard, and your boots. You must wear a helmet at all times. Please note that you should dress in accordance with the weather. We also offer lessons for beginners without skis.

The La Coulée Verte snowmobile club manages approximately 185 kilometres of high quality, marked snowmobile trails in the eastern section of La Matapédia, including a section of the Trans-Québec 5. La Matapédia is home to many different snowmobile trails so that you can make the most of the accommodation, catering, and fuel provision services in the area. The club also owns a snowmobile stopover in Albertville.
